HATHA YOGA TEACHER TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION
HOME STUDY PROGRAM
For over three decades the Temple of Kriya Yoga has been a leader in providing
high-quality, in-depth training for those who aspire to teach yoga. By
investing just a few hours a week in this program, you will reap innumerable
benefits which will last a lifetime. Our certification program offers you
the unique opportunity to fully explore the realms of yoga and develop
your skills as a teacher. This can be accomplished at your own pace and
in the comfort of your own home.
Hatha Yoga Teacher Training and Certification is taught by a team of
highly qualified instructors led by Goswami Kriyananda. Each yoga instructor
has decades of teaching experience and is committed to applying the principles
of yoga in their personal life. The course is an extensive, 12-month home study
program, providing over 250 hours of instruction in hatha yoga, teaching skills,
anatomy, physiology, and yoga philosophy. The course also gives you the tools and
techniques you will need to embark on a new and rewarding career.
Hatha Yoga Teacher Training will teach you how to structure and lead
yoga classes, provide you with a comprehensive understanding of yoga theory,
and assist you in developing the skills you need to be an effective communicator
and teacher. You will discover how yoga methods generate greater strength
and flexibility of the body and mind, youthfulness, health, and vitality.
Each quarter of Hatha Yoga Teacher Training combines lectures from our extensive collection of yoga education programs
with selected reading assignments, printed lessons, and study guides. In addition, each student is personally assisted through the course with
the support of a highly trained, caring advisor who can be in
communication by phone, fax, e-mail, or letter.
Retreats
The program includes two 4-day retreats which are required for certification, and additional optional 4-day retreats (There is an additional teaching fee for the optional retreats). The first required retreat will lay the foundation for teaching and correcting postures, while the second required retreat will provide you with the opportunity to teach a required class and also participate in reviewing other student teachers.
The required retreats are held in a serene, beautiful retreat center located in Illinois, while some of the optional retreats are held in New Mexico. Travel expenses, room and board are not included in the course tuition. Our program is also registered with the Yoga Alliance. For students interested in registering with the Alliance, five retreats will accrue the required contact-hours for registry.
Certification
Upon completion of the course, students who fulfill the requirements
specified in the course syllabus will be awarded a teacher's certificate.
Students will be required to demonstrate mastery of yoga asanas and an
understanding of yoga principles and practices. Teaching skills will also
be evaluated.

- How to teach all age groups and ability levels
- Vinyasas: asanas which flow from posture to posture
- Subtle anatomy: nadis and chakras and how they are activated by the asanas
Enrollment
No previous knowledge of Hatha Yoga is required for the Hatha Yoga Teachers
Training and Certification Home Study Program. Enrollment is limited so register now to assure your place in the class.
Tuition and Payments
Tuition for the entire course is $2495 and includes all CD's, study guides, lesson plans, reading materials, counseling, and retreat instruction. (Travel, room & board are not included. A tuition deposit of $995 is due at the time of registration. The remaining tuition can be paid quarterly. If you choose, you may pay for the entire course in advance and receive a 10% discount of $250 reducing your tuition to just $2245.
